We have for sale an absolutely stunning sterling silver Blue John teardrop shape reversible pendant with a plain bale. It has been beautifully hand crafted in Sheffield, England. In a slim teardrop design and set with a beautiful unique piece of Derbyshire Blue John on one side and Blue Goldstone on the other. A stunning unique piece of jewellery. On the side of the pendant is a large feature Hallmark from the Sheffield Assay Office with date letter W. This beautiful pendant comes supplied on a strong 20" sterling silver curb chain.
Blue John stone is a rare, semiprecious mineral, fluorite, found at only one location in the world. This is at Treak Cliff Cavern which is at the western end of Hope Valley near Castleton in Derbyshire, England. The name Blue John derives from the French Bleu Jaune, meaning Blue John. It was first discovered by miners exploring the cavern for lead.
Blue Goldstone is a manmade stone, made up of quartz, sand glass and is infused with copper particles. Blue Goldstone is recognised for its beautiful sparkling shimmer and deep blue colour. This stone is thought to be a protective stone, bringing good luck and increasing spiritual awareness. Blue Goldstone is associated with the throat chakra.
