We have for sale an absolutely stunning sterling silver Blue John extra large size reversible pendant. It has been beautifully hand crafted in Sheffield, England. In a large teardrop shape and set with a unique piece of Derbyshire Blue John on one side and black Mother of Pearl on the other. A stunning unique piece of hand made jewellery. On the edge of the pendant is a large feature Hallmark from the Sheffield Assay Office with date letter W. This beautiful pendant comes supplied on a strong 24" sterling silver curb chain. A totally unique piece of hand made jewellery for any occassion.
Blue John stone is a rare, semiprecious mineral, fluorite, found at only one location in the world. This is at Treak Cliff Cavern which is at the western end of Hope Valley near Castleton in Derbyshire, England. The name Blue John derives from the French Bleu Jaune, meaning Blue John. It was first discovered by miners exploring the cavern for lead.
Mother of pearl is considered to have healing properties of the sea. This stone is thought to soothe the mind, help with fears, and encourages clarity when making decisions. Mother of pearl is considered to be a balancing stone, and is thought to bring luck.
