We have for sale a beautiful pair of 9ct gold Blue John single sided stud earrings. These earrings have been beautifully hand crafted in Sheffield, England. In an oval design, and set with unique pieces of Derbyshire Blue John, with a solid polished back. These earrings fasten with a post and butterfly.
Blue John stone is a rare, semiprecious mineral, fluorite, found at only one location in the world. This is at Treak Cliff Cavern which is at the western end of Hope Valley near Castleton in Derbyshire, England. The name Blue John derives from the French Bleu Jaune, meaning Blue John. It was first discovered by miners exploring the cavern for lead.
