Derbyshire Blue John and Labradorite Silver Large Pendant and Chain
We have for sale a beautiful sterling silver Blue John double sided medium size pendant. It has been beautifully hand crafted in Sheffield, England. In a medium sized oval design, with a Celtic style bail, this pendant is set with a totaly unique piece of Derbyshire Blue John on one side and a stunning piece of Labradorite on the other, both highly polished. A strong 20" sterling silver curb chain is supplied as standard, other lengths are available. This pendant has a large feature hallmark running around the edge from the Sheffield Assay Office, with date letter W.
Blue John stone is a rare, semiprecious mineral, fluorite, found at only one location in the world. This is at Treak Cliff Cavern which is at the western end of Hope Valley near Castleton in Derbyshire, England. The name Blue John derives from the French Bleu Jaune, meaning Blue John. It was first discovered by miners exploring the cavern for lead.
Labradorite is a member of the Feldspar family and is treasured for its remarkable play of color, known as labradorescence. It is a stone of transformation and is a useful companion during periods of change, imparting strength and perseverance. It balances and protects the aura, raises consciousness and grounds spiritual energies. Excellent for strengthening intuition - promoting psychic abilities.
