We have tested the movement and it is working extremely well and keeping really good time. The 17 Jewel Tudor mechanical manual wind movement is in excepetional condition. The case back is stamped R.W.Co Ltd and has a Hallmark from the Chester Assay office with date letter D from 1954. The clasp is stamped Rolex and features the makers mark of B\u0026amp;S, that stands for B H Britton \u0026amp; Sons. They were a prominent manufacturer of gold watch cases and bracelets in Birmingham in the mid 20th century. In this period, import duties on finished gold watches from Switzerland was high, Swiss brands like Rolex Tudor shipped movements and cases to the UK and had the bracelets added on arrival to avoid the high duties.
